Help Us Restock the House With Love, One Item at a Time

Each summer, our local Ronald McDonald House in Missoula invites the community to trade pine trees for palm trees, and Santa hats for sun hats, as we come together to support families facing one of life’s hardest challenges: caring for a critically ill child far from home.

Our House offers more than just a place to stay. We provide laundry rooms, play spaces, a fully stocked kitchen, and moments of peace and stability for families who didn’t expect to be here. With 16 guest rooms and a growing number of families staying with us each year, we go through a tremendous amount of supplies – things like toilet paper, snacks, trash bags, and laundry detergent.

That’s why Christmas in July was created. To keep our shelves full and our care strong, even in the heat of summer.

Teaching Kids About Giving Back

Christmas in July is a perfect way to introduce kids to philanthropy in a hands-on, meaningful way. Whether they bring in a box of granola bars or a bag of laundry pods, they’ll see how small actions can make a big difference.

At the Ronald McDonald House, we believe in growing generous hearts by teaching children to give of their time, talents, and treasures.

Pick Up a Wishlist and Deliver Supplies to the House

1) Visit any of our Christmas in July palm tree displays around town

Each display includes printed wishlists and a donation drop-off guide. See the list of current locations below.

2) Pick one item—or several—from the wishlist

These are items we use daily to care for families. Choose what works for your budget or your heart.

3) Add your items to your shopping cart and drop them off at:

You don’t have to live in Missoula to make a difference.

This is a perfect option for out-of-town supporters, Busy families, or Companies or groups looking for a virtual giving opportunity.

Host a Group Drive

The More Elves, the Merrier!

Whether you’re part of a church, a book club, a business, a school group, a neighborhood, or a big-hearted family, you can make a major impact by organizing a group drive.

1) Download or pick up a wishlist
2) Share it with your group
3) Have each person pick a few items to purchase
4) Collect and deliver together—or ship directly through Amazon

We’d love to recognize your group for helping us support families. Reach out to our Chief Elf, Teresa (twindham@rmhcmt.org) if you plan to host a drive, and she’ll provide materials and support to make it easy.

Thank You for Being Part of Our Summer Elf Crew

When a child is seriously ill, the entire family feels it. And at our Ronald McDonald House in Missoula, we care for all of them – parents, siblings, and loved ones – by providing comfort, connection, and practical support in a time of crisis.

This July, your generosity helps us stay fully stocked, fully present, and fully committed to the families who need us most. Whether you’re shopping in town or sending supplies from afar, you’re not just giving paper towels or snack packs…you’re giving care.

We may have swapped sleigh bells for flip flops and snow for sunshine, but the heart of the season remains: community, compassion, and a little magic.

Thank you for being one of our summer elves. We couldn’t do this without you.

Do you think it’s important to help families stay close during medical treatment?
