Meals from the Heart

Interested in how you can help families who are far from home with a sick child? There are a few different ways to help with Meals from the Heart:

1) Cook a meal on-site for RMHC families:
Days for cooking in the Ronald McDonald House are Monday–Friday with a maximum group size of 6.

2) Curbside delivered meal:
Curbside delivered meals can be any night of the week! Sign up for a date here and let us know what curbside meal you will be sharing. Meals must come from a commercial kitchen such as a restaurant, deli or frozen meals from the grocery store. They can be dropped off by you or a delivery service.

3) Sponsor a meal:
Donate any amount here to help cover the cost of the meal and we will take care of the rest! Use the drop-down menu on the donation page to select “Meals From The Heart.” The average amount to feed RMHC families is around $200 each evening.

For on-site or curbside meals, please contact Teresa at twindham@rmhcmt.org or 406-541-7646 a day or two prior to your scheduled date to get an estimate of how many guests to prepare for and if there are any dietary restrictions. Dinner time is 5 pm.

Super Siblings

The Super Siblings program, which recognizes that kids may be facing fear, anxiety, changes in their daily routines, even jealousy when a brother or sister is sick. Super Siblings offers fun activities and support for children who are staying in the House.

Wish List

The Ronald McDonald House’s wish list runs long.  Think of it this way – we often have nearly 20 people staying with us each night. That means we go through a lot of paper towels, laundry detergent, etc.  Providing a comfortable stay for our families takes not only a wonderful house, but an amazing amount of items that need to always be on hand.  Here you will find a list of items, big and small, that we are always grateful to accept from our loving donors. Thank you for your support!

Pop Tabs

Little things can make a big difference. You can help support the Ronald McDonald House by collecting the tabs from aluminum cans. The funds generated from recycling help offset the House’s expenses. Collecting tabs can be an easy and fun project. Many groups such as schools, corporations, clubs, and communities participate in this program and it’s a simple way to make a big difference. Collecting pop tabs is a great program that benefits the Ronald McDonald House families and is easy to organize. Your aluminum can tabs go a long way with Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western Montana. Those tabs, when recycled, help cover some of our operational costs.

Where do I take my tabs? Saving pop tabs is easy. Simply remove the tab off your can, save them in a wide-mouth container, and when you have a large amount, drop them off at our House, at 3003 Fort Missoula Road, Missoula, MT 59804.

Why pop tabs and not the entire can? Because pop tabs are smaller and easier to store. The tabs are also paint free and pure aluminum, which increases their value and profit when recycled. So pull your tabs for the Ronald McDonald House , but be sure to recycle the cans.

McDonald’s Donation Boxes

Show your support by dropping your spare change in a donation box at your local McDonald’s. All donations collected at Montana McDonald’s restaurants are split between RMHC of Western Montana (Missoula) and RMHC of Eastern Montana (Billings).

Volunteer

How You Can Make a Difference

The Ronald McDonald House receives support from a strong foundation of volunteers. Volunteer efforts help to maintain a safe, clean, friendly environment in which families can live. Their acts of love and kindness make this House more than just a place to stay, they make it a home away from home.

If you wish to share your love and kindness in support of the Ronald McDonald House mission, the possibilities for volunteers are endless. We prefer to visit with all volunteers one-on-one to match volunteers up with an experience that will not only help the House and our families but one that will also hopefully be personally rewarding and fulfilling. For additional information or to schedule a volunteer meeting, please contact Teresa Windham at twindham@rmhcmt.org or 406-541-7646.
